Our Player in the Spotlight this month is sereneone67, known to us as Chris or Christie, or even Funny Face (at least to me). She is now known as notsoserene67, owing to recently being barred from yahoo for a hundred years, or something like that.

Christie was born on 13 December 1967 in Windsor, Ontario. She now lives in Calgary, Alberta and has lived there for almost 17 years.

Christie joined Mountain Euchre about 6 years ago and was a member of the Admin Team for some time.

Her favorite partner and her friends on the Mountain are anyone who puts up with her.

Christie is an Office Manager (proper title Comptroller) for a Risk Management and Insurance Consulting firm.  She has worked for the same guys for 15 years.  Also, she recently obtained her "Black Jack Dealer's Licence" so a few times a month she deals Black Jack at a nearby casino.

Christie says that she recently realized that the word ‘family’ doesn’t necessarily mean the people you are born to – she is an only child, but she feels that ‘best friends’ are the family that destiny forgot to give her.

Christy has a 14.5 year old orange tabby cat named Rusty – He rocks her world!

Her biggest hobbies are travel and wine.  

In 2007, she was lucky enough to take her "dream" vacation to Australia where she spent three weeks with Pattie1005 and her wonderful companion John.  It turned that the trip was beneficial to her other hobby as well, because she says she spent most of the three weeks drunk.

She has been fortunate enough to have traveled through most of the United States, (with a trip planned to Hawaii in March '08), and Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

She is hoping to spend some time in Hong Kong, Saigon and Thailand in late 2008 and to hook up with Pattie and John in the Cook Islands before a return visit to Oz in the near future.

Christy was reluctant to tell some funny stories, so I will tell some for her. On her visit to Australia, she bought a beautiful opal ring. She was busy admiring it and saying she would like her friends back home to see it. So John was trying to take a close-up photo of the ring, when Christie says indignantly ‘What are you doing?’. She thought John was taking a close-up of her boobs!!

We had told Christie that you can see kangaroos from our family room in the reserve behind our home. She excitedly told us one morning she could hear them – it was cows mooing! We teased her for days about the ‘mooing kangaroos’.

Christie has sent a photo of her loved cat, Rusty, and some photos of her in Oz.

Newfie Eggs

Take 4 slices of bread and bite the middle out. (About 2-1/2 inches diameter.)
Brush each side with melted butter.
Place face down in dry fry pan set to med high temp.
When light golden brown on bottom, crack an egg into each hole.
Cook 30-60 sec, then gently flip and cook until done to taste.

On a DIET – Low Fat ???
Heat oven to 350.
Same as above except use butter free spray
Just bake in oven until done.
