Our Player in the Spotlight this month is Ketzy502 – her first name is Linda. She was born on 28 March 1948 on Easter Saturday morning, back when the doctor still made house calls. Her Dad went and got the doctor and brought him to the house to deliver the baby. She was born and raised in Ottawa, Ohio and now lives in Lima, Ohio.

Ketzy joined the league about nine years ago and honestly can`t imagine what she would do without it. She has so many favorites - including Gabby, Seg, Kykidd, Mick, Bojo, Brewman ,Fluffy, etc, etc, etc, so many . Her favorite partner is anyone who plays a good game.

Ketzy was mostly a stay at home Mom until her kids were raised. She worked a couple of factory jobs (G.M & Phillips) just enough to find out that she hated factory work, so they bought a working man’s bar and owned it for 15 years. Ketzy says if you’re not a drinker it is a tough line of work to be in – lol.

After her hubby got sick and passed on, she sold the bar and just enjoys her home and family. She is the proud mother of 3 daughters, Annette, Stacey and Missy, who each have 1 daughter and 2 sons. There is one set of twin grandsons who both talk in their sleep and answer each other. They love to fish and after a long day on the water, Ktzy heard one say in his sleep ‘I got a big one Josh’ and the other one replied ‘Hold on, I’ll get the net’. It is just so funny to hear them.

Ketzy owns 13 acres, seven of which are water - a large quarry that has been filled with water for about 75 years. The fishing is great. She has owned and operated a haunted house for the past five years. It is called the Old Haunted Stone Quarry. She got the idea to open it because of the huge turtle that lives there. He is a monster. They call him Nessy – and he is as big as a small round kitchen table. He has only been hooked a few times in the 18 years Ketzy has lived there, but when he is, the adrenaline is so high – and he has never been caught.

She loves country music and has gone to country concerts 13 times and seen a lot of country music stars. Charlie Daniels put on one of the best concerts she has ever seen. She thinks she has had enough of outside concerts, but would go again if Garth Brooks was ever there.

She doesn’t have any house pets anymore, because all she has to do is look outside and see all the deer, raccoons, groundhogs (yuk)- lol, possums, rabbits & squirrels on a daily basis. She doesn’t have to take them to the vet or feed them, (except she feeds the birds all winter long).

She also loves to play poker and plays almost every Saturday night – there is always someone calling to ask if we`re playing and she always says ‘Does a bear chit in the woods’ lol - and it`s on.

She also likes to travel – she has been to Cancun, Cozumel, Vegas a few times, Mexico, Florida Keys a couple times - wherever it`s warm and sunny. One day she would like to have a live tourney at her house. Gabby tried to talk her into it after she was here but Ketzy doesn’t think she could pull it off by herself, She said it would be a great spot to have a live tourney, hopefully sometime soon it will happen.

Pineapple Upside down Biscuits

1 (10-ounce) can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, at room temperature
10 maraschino cherries
1 (12-ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 count)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Grease 10 cups of a muffin tin. Strain well the crushed pineapple, save juice for later. Combine the pineapple, sugar, and butter, and mix well. Divide the pineapple mixture among the muffin cups. Push a cherry down onto the bottom and center of each muffin cup. Place 1 biscuit in each cup on top of sugar and pineapple mixture. Spoon 1 teaspoon reserved pineapple juice over each biscuit. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden. Cool for 2 minutes. Invert the pan onto a plate to release the biscuits. Serve warm.
