Summer is here!!!

We will be publishing a newsletter during the summer months. However we are giving all of the news staff time off. How are we going to do that you ask? Read on.

To do something fun and different we are asking you, our readers, to send in photos of vacations and time spent with family and friends. (2006 – 2007) ANY format is fine; I will edit them to fit. Please send pics to LinnieLou@wi.rr.com with “SUMMER PHOTO” in the subject line. Include your ladder name, where the photo was taken, and a brief description.

Many of us players will be not be online this summer because we’ll be out enjoying the beautiful weather with family and friends. Please share your fun and cherished memories with us. With your help we are looking forward to a fascinating, enjoyable, and entertaining newsletter in the summer months.

Our Spotlight on Player this month is our favorite - the _first_tigger!

Pets of the Month belong to midnight_wolf, Cassie and Princess.

This month's Trivia Time is all about a summer movie classic - Jaws!

Our player in the spotlight this month is the_first_tigger – known to us also as Tracey, an old favourite on Mountain.

She was born on November 4, 1967 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and yes that makes her 40 years old this year – lol.

Tracey lives in a small historical fishing town 35 miles south of Edinburgh, called Dunbar. In the past there have been battles (and no she didn’t cause them!) and Mary Queen of Scots spent some time there in a small castle which is now a ruin.

Tracey joined mountain over 6 years ago when it was in Etna. She had never even heard of euchre before then and learned the game there and has never looked back

Her favourite player is anyone who will carry her!

She has too many friends on Mountain to name – she has met so many wonderful people Pattie, Binski and his babe, destne, gloop, flute, destiny, gabby, xtreme - to name a few. She wonders if the penises she took to two of Gloop’s live tourneys still take pride of place!

Tracey loves her job - she has supervisory duties in a hardware store that sells just about anything you need for a home. She works full time and just loves being in a small place knowing a lot of the customers, smiling with them in times of joy and helping them when they have a hard time. There is one lady, Margaret, who is in her 70s, and she’s always so full of life - she came in one day dancing on her way to the local swimming pool lifting her skirt for us to see her swimming costume. A few months later she came in after having a very bad stroke – she has not lost her spark but can barely talk and her left side is useless, but she still wants her gardening things. Tracey says that it people like her that make an impact on you daily.

Tracey has 4 sons Steven 18, Chris 17, Ben 11, and Jack 8 years old. Steven is in the Territorial Army and works full time in a bakery/ butchers. The TAs are a part time army whose training is just the same as the regular army and can be called up at any time. Chris left school last year and is at college studying mechanics, he also plays proper football (with a round ball), and has received a few trophies - best goal scorer and most improved player. Ben moves up to high school this summer and is looking forward to it, he plays the cello and Tracey is a very proud mommy sitting in the audience during school concert. He also plays proper football and also has received trophies for most improved player. Jack is her baby he loves kissing and hugging and is just waiting for the time he can join a football team just like his brothers.

When Tracey split from her husband just over 2 years ago, she was so scared but she picked herself up, dusted herself down and learnt to drive. It was a massive achievement for her. She also took up Tae Kwon Do with Ben and Jack and they have between them 6 trophies - one of hers is a silver for sparring. Her fight was with a girl 20 years her junior and she was so proud of herself. Way to go Tracey!

Tracey doesn’t have any pets at the moment. She lost her dog last September. He was a black labrador called Bernie and was13 years old. He was so funny - he liked you to think he was stupid but was so clever. If he was hungry he would open the fridge and help himself. So many times she came home to spoilt food lying on the floor. If he wanted a walk he would open the front door by jumping onto the handle pulling it down and pulling the door inwards. Many a time he came home covered in sand and soaking wet from going for a swim on his own.

Tracey has sent us photos of herself and her sons.

This months Pet Article features Midnight_wolfe's Pets Cassie and Princess

Gina’s pets are named Cassie and Princess.  Cassie is 3 year old, blonde colored, 75 pound lab mix with brown eyes. Gina and her family think she is grey hound type breed. Cassie was in an ad for free pets. Gina and her family went to see Cassie and her daughter fell in love with her. So, they brought her home.

Princess is a full blooded lab that Gina’s husband got for her when Gina’s mom was in Brian's House (a home for terminally ill people). He got Princess in an attempt to cheer her up after her mothers passing. Princess is about 9 Months old and weighs about 50 lbs. Princess is blonde with green eyes. She is a smaller lab and was the runt of the litter. Her birthday is July 4, which is a very special day to Gina. Gina’s mom always took them camping on that day paired with the fact that Gina was 24 years old before she ever saw her home town fireworks.
Gina said she really wanted a chocolate lab, but when her hubby and daughter when to see them, she was all alone in the corner. When they saw her and held her, they said this is the one. Mom will love her. And they were right. Gina did love her!
Gina feds Cassie and Princess “Nutra Max or something expensive” because she doesn’t like to give them table scraps. Never-the-less, Gina reports that they seem to find those table scraps anyway, and they sneak stuff from my 5 year old son when he’s not looking!

Both of Gina’s pets are very special. They know when she sick and they won’t leave her side until she is better. “They follow me around the house constantly.” If she is in the kitchen they are right there. If she goes to the bathroom, they are waiting at the bathroom door. It’s a pain in the butt when cleaning. Her hubby thinks it’s special, that Cassie will sit at the end of Gina’s bed until she falls asleep and then jumps on her bed. If she wakes up and commands Cassie to get down, she will take a few steps, and wait for her to fall back asleep so she can lay back down. If Gina doesn’t fall back asleep, Cassie will eventually get down after Gina yells at her 3 or 4 times.
Both Cassie and Princess love to “chew the heck out of plastic pop bottles.” Cassie will stay and sit if you tell her to stay. She will retrieve the pop bottle, but only after commanding her to "fetch it".

Gina had another male lab that they had for quite a few years, who was their favorite pet, Named Gage. Gage was a big lab weighing about 100 lbs. Gina recalls when he younger that he would catch frisbees in the air. “He would actually jump about 3 feet in the air to catch them.”
Sadly, about a month ago they had to put him down. He was the protector of the home. He might let you in the door, but wouldn’t let you take very many steps into the home. He had bitten Gina’s brother and a close friend in the privates, Gina’s sister in law in the rear end, and another in the belly. Gina says, “they weren’t bad bites, just little nips, letting them know this is my house, and you didn’t knock.” Gina and her family very rarely locked their doors when Gage was there. They felt totally safe. Now that he is gone, her doors are locked at all times. “It’s hard when you get so attached having a pet, then have to put them down.” “Making a decision that is the best for them is heart wrenching.” Gina had Gage when their house burnt down. They rented a house near by on the same road about 4 or 5 houses away. They would occasionally find him at their old house. Gina and her family miss Gage, but will always keep him in their hearts and memories.

Thank you, Gina for a wonderful article!!!!
